Keep those Trains Moving (Aspose.Words on Mercurial)

About a couple of months ago we migrated Aspose.Words development from Subversion to Mercurial. To setup and learn and document new procedures was a bit steep, but the productivity and morale has soared. We never looked back.

Aspose.Words Express – a free utility to convert documents to EPUB

We have released a free utility Aspose.Words Express 1.0 which is a small utility that allows you to easily convert DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML and ODT documents to EPUB. All you need is select a source file, a destination and click the Convert button.

Autoporting Aspose.Words for Java Progress – 15th Mar 2011

I am happy to announce that we have achieved another great milestone on the Aspose.Words for Java 10.0 project. All 9700+ unit tests now pass in Aspose.Words for Java. The Aspose.Words for Java code is automatically ported from Aspose.Words for .NET C# source to Java using CodePorting, a tool we have developed inhouse.

Autoporting Aspose.Words for Java Progress – 11th Feb 2011

Previous Stats Aspose.Words consists of 2744 source files. Running 311 unit tests on Aspose.Foundation for Java pass all. Running 8813 unit tests on Aspose.Words – 437 fail.
Today Stats Aspose.Words consists of 2800 files. Aspose.Foundation 398 unit tests all pass. Aspose.Words 8868 unit tests – 376 fail.

Aspose.Words for .NET 9.7

We did not plan to release another Aspose.Words version so soon just under 4 weeks from the previous release, but the speed at which we are resolving issues seems to be good. 75 issues means a lot of customers will be happier, hence a new release.

Important Issues/Features Resolved

  • Some documents that contained DrawingML Charts and saved to DOCX by Aspose.Words failed to open in Microsoft Word.
  • Layout of adjacent tables in a document added extra space between tables when converting to PDF.
