Aspose.Words for Reporting Services 1.1.0 Released
This is the first significant release of Aspose.Words for Reporting Services since the project was launched (exactly two months ago). We are happy to notice how it evolves and we are especially happy to participate in its development.
Starting with this release, you are free to choose between automatic installation (using MSI installer) and manual installation (that was offered from the beginning). MSI installer deploys the product to the default instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and … Continue Reading

Spring in Moscow
Obviously May is the best month of the year. Here in Moscow it is not usually very hot, although at the moment it’s 27 °C (~80 °F). However, it is always warm enough to wear T-shirt and have a walk across the city to admire its beautiful sights. May seems to be the most attractive month to visit Moscow indeed – winter or autumn will meet you with lowering sky, and summer is too sultry and dusty to enjoy the trip. Late … Continue Reading

Aspose.Words for Reporting Services 1.0.4 Released
This release addresses several minor issues reported by customers. In particular, rendering of complex nested subreports was improved. Nested subreports containing tables often result in a deep hierarchy of nested tables in Microsoft Word documents. Starting with v1.0.4, the tables are “really” nested (containing each other) which fixes the layout and simplifies editing – for example, inner (child) tables are moved together with the outer (parent) table when positioning it in the document.
The next release will be more significant and will introduce MSI installer that … Continue Reading

How to Report Aspose.Words for Reporting Services Issues Efficiently
Aspose.Words for Reporting Services is not a typical component such as Aspose.Words or other products from the Aspose family. It is a rendering extension for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and it does not provide public API types except those required for intercommunication with SQL Server. Apart of this fact, there is another important peculiarity that affects the way of reporting and addressing technical issues, so let me cover this point.
In order to quickly resolve an issue reported by … Continue Reading

Aspose.Words for Reporting Services Featuring AWesomeExport Technology
It’s been around 10 days since we released Aspose.Words for Reporting Services, the only solution on the market that enables so desperately requested export of reports to Microsoft Word documents. Now it’s time to speak about what this unique product actually can do 🙂
We started working on this product several months ago and from the very beginning we’ve been keeping in mind one important thing. We intended to not only implement high-fidelity export without any losses or changes, but … Continue Reading

Aspose.Words for Reporting Services 1.0.1 Released
This release officially introduces our new technology of smart export of reports to Microsoft Word documents called AWesomeExport. Currently it allows to convert tables and matrices in original reports to “native” tables in Microsoft Word documents (rather than to a bunch of textboxes) which makes the output much more natural and easy to edit. Note this behaviour is enabled by default starting with this release. To learn how to turn it off if needed, please consult the online or offline documentation of the … Continue Reading

Rapid Text Format
Please download the latest Aspose.Words 4.1.1 if you want to assess the result of the optimizations applied to RTF import within almost two weeks after release.
Let me boast a bit. Let’s take our old fellow for the testing: a document named Microsoft Office Word 2003 Rich Text Format (RTF) Specification converted to the format it describes, RTF. Why we commonly use it for testing our import/export modules is because it’s well balanced for that purpose: it’s large enough (~8 Mb RTF); … Continue Reading
